When Catch22 founder, Ruchi, began her MBA at University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business,
she was looking to meet someone and explore new relationship possibilities. After trying several
ways of meeting people, including at bars, introductions through friends, a few blind dates
she’d rather not remember and a few online dating sites, she knew there had to be a better way
to meet intelligent, educated guys who were also interesting and down-to-earth. She thought living
in a big city like Chicago would make dating easier and provide many opportunities to meet people,
but Ruchi quickly realized how challenging it can be, especially when everyone has such busy and
different schedules. Her vision was to introduce intelligent, successful graduate students and
young professionals through a dependable, go-to site where being busy and ambitious wasn’t a catch22.
As a result, Catch22Dating was born with a mission to bring together highly educated and successful
young professionals and graduate students in a trusted, exclusive community.
The Catch22Dating Team
Ruchi recently graduated from the University of Chicago’s full-time MBA program and completed her undergraduate business degree at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!). Prior to business school, she lived and worked in New York, first in strategy consulting and then in finance. In starting Catch22, she hopes to create an easier, better way to introduce people by bringing together a more focused community. As she began building the site, Ruchi could not think of anyone better than her friend Jen to help realize Catch22’s vision of helping people meet the type of people they want to date. In her spare time, Ruchi enjoys inventing new recipes, exploring new cities and practicing yoga.
Jennifer graduated from the University of Chicago’s full-time MBA program and holds a bachelors’ degree from the University of Richmond. She worked in finance and economic consulting before business school but always knew she wanted to be part of creating something new. Ruchi was one of the first people she met at the University of Chicago and when Ruchi told her about Catch22, she knew she wanted to be a part of it. She has experienced first-hand how hard it can be to meet the right type of people as a young professional and whole-heartedly believes Catch22 can do a lot of good by bringing people together who may have never otherwise met. Jennifer enjoys running along Chicago’s lakefront, cooking and traveling to warmer locations during Chicago winters.
